    “Lovely property, rooms were clean and tidy.”

    All amenities that you would need are there. Great location to visit the South Hams area. The only thing I would mention is that the stairs are very steep and narrow at the bottom. This should really be mentioned in the description, particularly with young children or the elderly.

2 Court Cottages is an idyllic base situated within the rural village of Aveton Gifford, found within the captivating South Hams area of the South Devon AONB and only a few miles from Kingsbridge and Salcombe.

This quaint hideaway rests amidst an array of attractions and activities to keep a group of families and friends of all ages and tastes busy, and is perfect for a refreshing getaway from the everyday routines.

Be spoilt for choice by the sleeping accommodation that awaits you, with three elegantly presented bedrooms to choose from after an action-packed day to retire to each evening.

Find a double bedroom with en-suite, as well as a double bedroom and a bunk bedroom (suitable for under 12's only), serviced by a well-appointed family bathroom.

Gather your loved ones within the open-plan living room after a day exploring, here you will find carefully selected furnishings and everything you could possibly need for a relaxing evening in.

The kitchen is well-equipped to cater your own delicious evening meals.

Enjoy them at the striking dining table and then afterwards sit down and plan the days ahead.

After dinner, look forward to sinking into the sofa, lighting up the fire and tuning into the TV for a couple of hours before you head to bed.

Alternatively, during a balmy afternoon, choose to dine alfresco within the rear patio area and catch the final glimpses of sunshine while you pour yourself a well-deserved glass of wine.

If you fancy a special treat one evening check the tides and walk just over a mile along the tidal road to the award winning restaurant, The Oyster Shack.

Alternatively, a short walk will bring you to the local pub as well as the community shop (NB closes in the evening) for picking up supplies.

To keep you busy whilst here, head to the coastline and nearby beaches in Salcombe, Hope Cove and Thurlestone.

You will also find superb surfing opportunities on the beaches of Bantham and Bigbury-on-Sea, or why not soak up the views whilst paddling along the River Avon.

Explore miles of walks and cycle paths that criss-cross the majestic Dartmoor National Park or spend some time browsing around the towns of Kingsbridge, Salcombe,Dartmouth, Totnes or Ivybridge.

Aveton Gifford is a small rural village at the head of the estuary of the River Avon in the South Hams area of the South Devon AONB. It comes with a village shop and the welcoming pub and restaurant of The Fisherman’s Rest on the outskirts. Nearby you can visit the charming market town of Kingsbridge which benefits from a range of amenities, including the Creeks End Restaurant, The Dodbrooke Inn, supermarkets, and the Kingsbridge Cookworthy Museum. Similarly, Ivybridge offers a choice of places to shop, eat and drink as well as The Watermark art gallery, Filham Park, and a leisure centre, all whilst providing easy access to the Dartmoor National Park which is a haven for lovers of walking and cycling. For a day by the sea, head to the ever-popular coastal resort of Salcombe, home to a beautiful beach, the Salcombe Maritime Museum, Salcombe Distilling Company and a picturesque harbour.
