“Flat was not worth what we paid for it.”

There was 3 of us .Mrs Henney has a severe sight problem and found it difficult to manage the set of steps between the two levels . We had to put a chair at beginning of 1st step and and another at bottom of last step as there was no bannister at either side to hold on to. Mrs Ballantyne had to try numerous times to speak to someone re BOOKED FOR 2 WEEKS I 1 set of towels in each bedroom for 2WEEKS. NO NOTICE OF CHANGING BED LINEN OR CLEANING. The small brown boxes o milk etc was a total ...

We all had to use the shower cubicle.in other bedroom. Sitting room and dining area tired especially settees. Room totally cluttered with books ornament etc First bedroom had no spaces totally full of CUSHIONS AND CHAIR AT DRESSING TABLE COULD NOT SIT AT. ALL CUPBOARDS TOO HIGH COULD NOT REACH. BATHROOM LIGHT AND DOOR OPENS RIGHT AT WHERE THE TOP OF THE BED IS,,!! NO ROOM could not sit on bed slid off. ALL CUPBOARDS IN BOTH BEDROOMS AND BATHROOMS COULD NOT BE REACHED. I AM 5 foot 2 inches and that was the bottom of all theses cupboards. Useless. Seating area outside HA HA HA TV too small and needed updating. OVERALL OVERPRICED AND VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

Naturally, we’re very disappointed that the apartment did not meet your expectations. However, we do feel that it’s important to respond to some of the points made as these do not reflect the normal feedback that we get about the property. There are over 20 photos on the website that show several views of each room and items such as the steps in the hallway, the shower over the bath in the main bathroom, the TV etc and give a clear idea of the size of the rooms and what to expect in the property. Also the steps in the main entrance and hallway and the laundry cupboard are mentioned in the text. We accept that there are a number of books throughout the property but these are restricted to underneath the TV (as can be seen in the photos), a basket under one of the small tables and a small number in the main bedroom Feedback about these has been good as they give information about Dartmouth, its rich maritime history and Dartmouth Pottery (the original use of the building). Yes - there are a small number of ornaments. Again, they reflect the history of the building and the vintage fish (gluggle) jugs can be seen in the photos and were probably originally made actually in the room that is now the main living area when it was the studio of Dartmouth Pottery. All cupboards in the property (and the height of these) were specified by the architect when the building was converted and this is the first time that we have had comments like this. We can also confirm that you did receive a mid-stay clean and linen change on the 7th day of your stay. For future reference, please note that the Sykes / Coast and Country reservations teams would be happy to discuss your detailed requirements and to help you choose a property that more closely meets your specific needs. “We had a lovely week at The Pottery and would certainly return!”

Just a couple of issues, 1 The shower in the en-suite needs attention, I did not expect to have black damp on the ceiling in such a good quality apartment, such a small thing that could be easily remedied! 2. The Freezer badly needs defrosting and the cooker needs cleaning, again easily remedied. My daughter and I feel that Sykes should have made us aware of the road collapse between Dartmouth and Warfleet. I know Dartmouth well and assumed we could use that direct route to and from The Pottery, rather than a 4 mile detour!

“The property is well situated, modern and comfortable.”

We visit Dartmouth 1/2 a year and this is our second visit to the property in c. 5 years. Although the facilities are clean, I would suggest a refresh to the furnishing/rugs/bedding. In particular, the tv needs replacing with a smart tv. The current solution of dvd's is dated and does not suit renters with a young family. Overall good but needs some investment and tlc. Ian.

“The road from Dartmouth to the cottage was closed so you had to take a small detour.”

This didn’t detract from the stay in any shape or form and possibly enhanced the stay with a reduction of traffic. The walk in to Dartmouth was easy and it was great to come back to a well equipped comfortable flat and watch the boats coming in and out of the harbour.

“No 3 the pottery was absolutely perfect for us.”

It was clean, comfortable, with everything you could need for a relaxing break. Parking was great and on the same level as the apartment so no hauling cases and bags up stairs, with just one step up between the entrance lobby and the apartment. The location was fantastic with a pleasant stroll into Dartmouth to the left and a short walk to the castle to the right. With the walls being around 2 feet thick it was surprisingly quiet with no noise from the other apartments. It's really nice modern apartment in a great development of the old pottery building and would not hesitate to recommend to friends and family.

“Chipped crockery chipped work surface, kitchen cupboards , worn in places, toilet seats moved, door handle in en suite broken( this was mentioned in visitors book two years ago) no mention in listing of the steps up to the property or steps in hallway, both without a handrail, important information for people who assume that a ground floor apartment is going to be access friendly!”

Sofas look nice , but are very low, again not easy for someone with mobility issues. Beds were comfortable, view from apartment amazing, general position good, just needs a little extra TLC

“Could not empty the bath.”

Had to bale it out. Owner of no. 4 tried to help. Said the bath plug was duff (used rather different language), Bathroom switch only worked intermittently. Had to make use of a torch Tripped on damaged floor strip entrance to living room. A piece of strip became separated later. A further piece of strip was already missing. Dangerous. All of these faults were not new.and must have been known about. Why had they not been fixed. Not the standard expected. Apart from very slippery leather sofas, apartment comfortable, well equipped and warm. Lots of instructions to follow on leaving. Walk into Dartmouth very up and down. Could be tiring.

“The directions to the property were really helpful and it was great to have such handy parking It was such a lovely surprise to walk into this apartment.”

.the view over the river is really lovely. We had a comfortable stay..beds were great. The smaller bedroom is quite small. We just had one person staying it it but it would be a squash for two...despite the double bed. The walk down to the creek only took a couple of minutes and it is a great place to sit ..especially with a G and T in the evening. Lots going on as well which kept us amused. Our only problem was with the induction hob.. despite instructions it was temperamental even after someone came to look at it. However the kitchen was really well equipped and the fridge /freezer was very roomy. We had a great week.

“Beautiful apartment, spotlessly clean and very well equipped.”

Comfortable lounge with views of the estuary from the sofas. Luckily the weather was lovely so we didn’t need to put the heating on as the apartment retains the heat from the sun. Parking was brilliant and the property was lovely and peaceful. Would recommend and would return if staying in the area.

“Fabulous property.”

Beautiful location. Great to have dedicated parking. Super soft, comfy beds. Within walking distance of Dartmouth castle with its stunning coves. Enjoyed an early morning walk watching the sun rise over the water. Had one of the prettiest views of any property I've ever stayed in. Both in the UK and abroad. Highly recommend.

“Great apartment with views of River Dart.”

Good facilities and finished to high standard. Only minor issue is related to using shower in bathroom no screen so you’ll need to be careful not to slip, be practical and agree with the other couple to use their en-suite shower.

“Excellent property and facilities.”

Only problem was the first few days (5th March) the lounge/diner wasn’t very warm as it was windy and there was a draught through the windows. Apart from that it was a very enjoyable week in lovely Dartmouth!

“Very pleasant apartment in a great location, ideal for walking into town (an easy 15 minutes) and the castle with it’s cafe and great views.”

Parking at the apartment was very convenient and a decent sized space. The apartment is a good size, comfortable, warm, quiet enough (the sound of the owl hooting was a welcome surprise), and with a view across rooftops to the estuary. Bedrooms are on the small size, and you can hit your head on the wall cupboards if you’re tall, but the bathrooms are fine. The kitchen is well equipped but workspace is limited. If there were 4 adults these points may be more relevant, but for two of us we found the apartment very comfortable and would certainly stay again.

“The key collection procedure needs to be clarified with regards to the keysafe, once we had visited the office to obtain the keys we knew what to do!”

All worked well thereafter. The property is very well equipped and some kitchen utensils / equipment may rarely be used however, a few more mugs would be useful ( and a small number of wine glasses). We would happily stay in this property again, we love the location and the Potteries apartment. The welcome pack and the wine was much appreciated.

After a tiring 8 hr drive from Norfolk it was frustrating trying to find the Dartmouth office then not being able to park. 2. The property was spotlessly clean apart from the oven (which we didn’t use) and mould in the shower cubicle.

The offices in Dartmouth were hard to find, despite lots of written instructions and the traffic was very congested. Great accommodation though and glad we went.

“Have rented from you several times over the years but didn’t think the cleaning was up to usual standard: Bed hasn't been hoovered under for a long time.”

Several items of rubbish were under there (which we removed) and thick with dust. The bed valance hasn’t been changed recently either as had several stains on it and thick with dust on back corners. There was a white residue over the bottom of one of the sofas where something had previously been spilt and had sprayed the sofa. The plinth along the bottom of the cupboards needed cleaning as had stains on it ( can see them while sitting on sofa). The property is nice but isn’t being maintained very well: toilet seat loose, most door handles need attention, etc. We had a plumbing issue when we arrived which was dealt with swiftly, thank you. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, just some minor issues that need looking at.

“The location and facilities were excellent but the apartment is getting a little tired in places.”

Toilet seat and door handle in the main bathroom were loose. The apartment would be improved by having a tumble dryer or washer/dryer as there is no facility for drying clothes should you need to. Having looked at availability for 2022 and the increase in rental charges l feel that the apartment ought to reflect those rises.

“The scenery and walking around the Dartmouth area is fabulous.”

We stayed in the same property 10 years ago and my comment at the time was that the kitchen was very under equipped, this time we could not fault it! We also felt comfortable in that the apartment was spotlessly clean and there was plenty of cleaning material available for our use in accordance with the current COVID-19 guidance, thank you. We would happily return to the same property in the future.

Bedrooms slightly on the small side but plenty of storage is provided so it’s not an issue. We have stayed at the potteries a number of times now and this is our favourite apartment.

“The location of the apartment was excellent, though parts of the road from the C&C office to the apartment, were single track which was a bit hair raising against oncoming traffic.”

We really enjoyed the walk into town with its stunning views of the river, and appreciated the castle ferry for getting back to the jetty by the castle on the return journey, when we had shopping to carry. The apartment was in excellent condition, modern and well equipped. The parking space was much appreciated. We found the main room was a bit chilly when the weather was cold and wet, so weren’t sure that only underfloor heating was quite enough. It felt welcoming and comfortable, and we appreciated the bottle of sparkling wine that was left for us. The apartment was a great base for a week in Dartmouth. We loved all the ferry and boat journeys available, and the town is full of restaurants and cafes. The steam train trip to and from Paignton, was good fun, as was a visit to Greenway, Agatha’s Christie’s house just up the river. As a holiday home, No. 3 is hard to beat.

“The accommodation was beautifully situated with a wonderful view of the River Dart to greet us when walking into the lounge each morning or on returning from an excursion out.”

Especially so as the weather was not brilliant, we had choosen the week storm Freya decided to cross Britain. However we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday, greatly due to this delightful appartment. After a few days I began to have recollections of visiting this building when it was 'The Pottery' in the 1970's.

“We found it difficult to fumble our way around the courtyard and into the apartment in the pitch darkness - a motion operated light would ease things for those unfamiliar with the layout.”

However, and not to take anything away from a very enjoyable birthday weekend with our son, we found the accommodation extremely comfortable and the apartment was comprehensively fitted out with everything we needed. There was a lovely view of the harbour, an easy walk into town and a generally welcoming ambience. “Gorgeous apartment.”

Great location. Everything your need. Seconds away from the water so that we could canoe. 10mins walk to Dartmouth, bars, cafes, restaurants and shops. Didn't have to use the car , just boats ,train and walking .

Unfortunately, my wife is perambulatory challenged (needs a walker, wheelchair etc) and the three short steep steps inside the apartment combined with the three in the entrance hall of the building, challenged me more this time than last when negotiating them with the walker and/or wheelchair on her behalf. We provided our own "grab rails" for the shower; the smooth panelling made for ideal retention. So a really lovely apartment, ideally suited for a stroll to the castle and an interesting walk into town to get the newspaper. However since then I have learned that C&C do have a few "accessible" properties which I will consider another tie

“Lovely property, furnished to a high standard with an estuary view.”

Warfleet is a quiet area and a pleasant 10 minute walk from town which we did several times - Much nicer to walk than trying to drive it as it is a narrow road and passing other cars can be an issue. Only slight gripe was that wifi access was a little intermittent.

“Beautiful apartment, very well equipped.”

Delightful views and lovely location, particularly liked being a bit away from the busy centre but near enough to walk to. Only downside thought the en suite was rather dark, could do with wall light or something.

Many thanks for your positive feedback in respect of this property, although I am sorry to read that you could hear music from the apartment 'above'.
As you may know we have managed this apartment (and several other properties) for many years and have received very few such comments in the past. We believe the noise may have been generated by contractors working temporarily on the penthouse apartment two floors above, and that it is (was) a short-term issue as this work was taking place.

“Provision of a coffee table would have been useful.”

Disposal of rubbish not clear. Bags not provided. Residue at bottom of shower doors could been removed. However, none of these points detracted from what was a very enjoyable and comfprtable holiday experience

Just a 10-15 minute walk from historic Dartmouth, The Pottery building is a famous Grade II listed former paper mill, bakery and brewery.

Explore Dartmouth’s riverside, boutique shops and fantastic restaurants, or enjoy picturesque Warfleet Creek right on your doorstep.

Accessed via a communal area, this luxurious ground floor flat opens into a hallway and leads down a few steps into a spacious, open plan living area.

This light and airy area boasts oak flooring and original stone features, plus large picture windows with views across to Warfleet Creek.

The living area is comfortably furnished with two large leather sofas, whilst the dining area has a contemporary wooden dining table and five leather dining chairs.
