“Well what a week we had in the most beautiful home.”

I couldn’t recommend it enough. It’s fully equipped for everything. We had a wonderful week making lovely memories. We had an issue with the boiler so we rang up and it was sorted within the day. We will defo return. We have looked for Easter but it’s booked up. Obviously popular. The house is a credit to its owners. Thank you

The property

Sou West is nestled amongst Devon’s rolling fields in Galmpton near Hope Cove and a short drive to Salcombe, Thurlestone, South Milton and Malborough in the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This newly refurbished, idyllic, detached holiday home benefits from a bright and airy interior adorned with contemporary appliances and chic decor, four beautifully-appointed bedrooms, a wonderful rear garden with far-reaching countryside and sea views and an excellent location close to the coast; the perfect base for families or friends looking to explore Devon with their beloved canine companions. After a day full of exploration, cross the threshold into your new home-from-home and head straight for the spacious sitting room where you can unwind on the plush, L-shaped sofa in front of the gentle warmth of the gas flame-effect stove and a 65 inch Smart TV. Later, head into the brand new, fully-equipped kitchen/diner to rustle up a tasty meal to be enjoyed around the dining table; on warmer evenings, why not step outside to the rear garden where you can fire up the barbecue and dine alfresco with a memorable backdrop. On chillier evenings the conservatory/snug provides breath-taking views across the countryside while allowing you to stay warm; when the evening draws to a close, wash off the day’s adventures in either the ground-floor shower room or sleek ensuite or cosy bathroom on the first floor. After freshening up, catch up on your rest in either king-size bedrooms on the ground floor or the super-king/two-singles and king-size on the first. If you can tear yourself away from this delightful house, Devon’s spectacular coast is within reach.

Take a leisurely 10 minute walk or 2 minute drive to Hope Cove; bask in the sun on Mouthwell Sands or join the South West Coast Path east to marvel at the stunning sea vistas from Bolt Tail scenic point or a short walk west to South Milton sands and Thurlestone beyond.

The coast path is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts as it spans an impressive 630 miles, meandering through charming coastal villages with endless attractions and beautiful views. Take a short drive into Malborough where you can stock up on all of your self-catering essentials at local convenience store or you can find larger supermarkets in Salcombe (a 10 minute drive) or Kingsbridge (a 12 minute drive).

Alternatively you could treat your loved ones to a break from the kitchen with a delicious meal at the fantastic restaurants and diners in Hope Cove, Salcombe or South Milton.

Hope Cove has a number of bars and restaurants including the Lobster Pod which serves fantastic seafood where you can enjoy the breath-taking sea-view from the comfort of your own pod and the Cove which is a friendly, relaxed restaurant again serving wonderful food with spectacular views.

Other must-sees include the surfing beach at Bantham, Bigbury, Burgh Island and Dartmoor National Park which boasts its own zoo! Make memories at Sou West.

About the location

HOPE COVE

Salcombe 4.6 miles; Kingsbridge 5.1 miles

The picturesque and unspoiled village of Hope Cove lies in the sheltered curve of Bigbury Bay on Devon’s south coast. A choice destination for families, the two beaches offering soft sand and rock pools for sandcastle building and fishing for small crabs. The town remains a fishing village where crabs and lobsters are still landed, however it was once used by smugglers. Many ships have perished around the coast and the wrecks that lie beneath the waves make it a popular spot for divers. Above the beach there are a number of pubs and restaurants. The coastal footpath can be joined from here and leads towards Bigbury-on-sea in one direction and the coastal resort of Salcombe in the other.

Please note the garage is not for guest use and will be locked.

One well behaved dog allowed. Dogs are not permitted on the furniture.
