    “On arrival we noticed that there was black mould around the patio door in the lounge and the bedroom door and near skirtings and up the backs of the patio and bedroom curtains, the patio door didn’t close fully and part of the trim outside was missing, which didn’t help with damp,the skirtings all around the cottage were thick with dust so were the lamps and bed frames, the kitchen door when it rained the water came in under the door and soaked the coir mat, the sofas and carpets need cleaning along with the curtains to get the mould off, the whole place needs decorating, we rang the office and reported the mould and dust the afternoon we arrived and were thanked, the correct response should have been ‘well send a cleaning team out to wipe this all down’ but nothing, the water heater is a bit dodgy doesn’t keep the water hot, the cottage needs a good thorough deep clean and repaint, we came home with a chest infection and the other one now has a sinus infection due to the mould spores.”

    It’s a shame as it’s a lovely little cottage. Also be warned that when you come off the main road you travel down a lane for 3/4 mile and it is hair raising to get to the property.

The property

5 Keeper's Cottage is one of five delightful, recently refurbished properties at Hillfield Village, offering modern and flexible accommodation over two floors, for couples and families alike. The cottage has an impressive living area with a cathedral ceiling and views to the gallery above.

Sumptuous seating provides a comfortable area to relax in or to watch TV and DVDs on the flat screen Smart TV.

The dining area has a table and two benches, comfortably seating four, whilst the modern kitchen is equipped to a very high standard. The property has two bedrooms – the master bedroom has a King-size bed, and a beautiful en suite bathroom with whirlpool bath and overhead shower.

The ‘gallery’ bedroom has two single beds.

In addition to the en suite bathroom there is a fully tiled ground floor shower room.

A Molton Brown toiletries gift pack is provided at the start of your stay.

Outside, guests also have the use of a private deck area. Nestled near historic Dartmouth, Hillfield Village facilities include acres of beautiful gardens, all-weather tennis court and a children's play area.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October.
