    “What a position!”

The most fabulous views unequalled I’d say from anywhere else in Hope Cove. The most fabulous views unequalled I’d say from anywhere else in Hope Cove. We have been coming to Hope Cove for many many years and this holiday was right up there with one of the best.it helped that we had wall to wall sunshine of course. The view of the sunset each evening from the balcony were stunning and were a definite highlight. The house itself….positives were the position, big garden and it was as clean as it could be in the circumstances. But it really has seen better days and I look forward to seeing it once refurbished if the owners continue to rent. We were a family of 7 and we ended up all having to use one shower as the shower in the small en-suite was just a trickle. The windows in the bedrooms don’t open and there were only tiny windows to allow fresh air in. It was hot! We lost hot water half way through our holiday but used the immersion heater so managed. It was mainly the home comforts that were missing, decent bathroom facilities. But we appreciated the coffee machine and the speaker in the sunroom. We’d definitely come back once refurbished. It’s a beautiful house that just needs some tlc at the moment.

About the location

HOPE COVE

Salcombe 4.6 miles; Kingsbridge 5.1 miles

The picturesque and unspoiled village of Hope Cove lies in the sheltered curve of Bigbury Bay on Devon’s south coast. A choice destination for families, the two beaches offering soft sand and rock pools for sandcastle building and fishing for small crabs. The town remains a fishing village where crabs and lobsters are still landed, however it was once used by smugglers. Many ships have perished around the coast and the wrecks that lie beneath the waves make it a popular spot for divers. Above the beach there are a number of pubs and restaurants. The coastal footpath can be joined from here and leads towards Bigbury-on-sea in one direction and the coastal resort of Salcombe in the other.

This is a pet friendly property, however please ensure they are not in carpeted areas. Dogs are charged at £25 per dog, per week.

Please note that the garden is steeply banked in places - very young children should be supervised.

Due to the arrangements of beds, this property is suitable for a maximum of 6 adults only.

Strictly No Smoking
