    Maybe more information about the traffic/road situation in Salcombe and Devon would be helpful. I’m sure your holiday makers come from different parts of the UK and further. Parking is a major concern with so many steps needing negotiation and minimal parking places in the main shopping area. Also, after becoming hemmed in a tiny road with 3 other vehicles we saw a notice saying ‘ignore satnav’! So, perhaps some road maps. Please note these are just observations and hopefully ...

The property

Situated in the seaside town of Salcombe, Lanapoule is a spacious holiday home, ideal for couples or families looking to explore the South Hams on Devon's South coast. Come together to relax with family or friends whilst enjoying views of the Devonshire countryside, glimpses of the estuary and Dartmoor in the distance.

Step inside and there are three spacious bedrooms as well as the two bathrooms off a large hallway. Upstairs you will find a light and airy setup comprising a sitting room with views over the rolling hills, and a sociable dining area, in which you can gather together for meal times or simply enjoy some down time. The kitchen is well-appointed, providing you with the essentials to cater for your stay. From the hallway there is a further small fourth bedroom, and access down the pathway to delightful lawned area. Follow the path further down to a Mediterranean inspired patio area with a lovely pond, and a separate garden room complete with sofa, Smart TV, fridge and shower room with WC - the perfect place to enjoy a sunny afternoon or evening barbecue. Lanapoule is the ideal holiday home for family or friends to come together in a coastal location, to explore the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Nearby is a public outdoor, heated swimming pool, which can be hired for private use should you wish. Salcombe boasts a colourful harbour, a superb destination for sailing and boating enthusiasts, with the annual sailing Regatta bringing thousands of visitors to the town each year. The two beaches, North Sands and South Sands, are unspoilt offering surfing and swimming opportunities, as well as rock pooling or simply relaxing your time away. Why not try crabbing with the kids on the quayside? Or for something a bit more exhilarating, walk the South West Coast Path and enjoy the views of glistening sea waters. Within the town itself is everything from independent boutiques to butchers and bakeries, so indulge yourselves and take the chance to discover a wide variety of amenities. Soak up the thriving atmosphere during summer months, or enjoy a relaxed vibe during the cooler seasons; this homely retreat is perfectly situated to explore both the dynamic coastline and beautiful countryside.

SALCOMBE

Kingsbridge 7 miles; Dartmouth 21 miles; Plymouth 24 miles; Paignton 26 miles.

Salcombe is a popular destination for walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea and was once a major port. There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.
