“What a lovely cottage.”

We have stayed on Island Street many times and we’d definitely book this one again, it’s a super location. Great kitchen facilities, much better than many we’ve stayed in and super attention to detail throughout. It can be noisy in the mornings as it’s right on the street but that’s to be expected. Also, we’re aren’t tall people and found the bathroom beautifully done but very snug! Overall another lovely week in Salcombe in a really nicely appointed house. Thankyou!

“Absolutely fantastic stay.”

Super comfortable beds and a lovely cottage in a perfect location. Might be worth noting the bathroom is very tight. I’m 5’9 and had to sit sidewards on the loo! All super tho so just nit picking one small thing out of perfection! Lovely touches when we arrived and love the bag! Thanks so much, we shall return!

Quay cottage is a perfect home from home in an ideal and central location. We really appreciated the thought that has gone into making the cottage very comfortable. Quality fittings and equipment made it an easy and relaxing stay. Being a bijou property, space is of course an issue especially in the bathroom. Little things make a big difference; thank you for the welcome pack and card.

“We had a great time.”

Lovely cottage with great amenities. Enjoyed the living room and excellent kitchen facilities. During the terrible weather over New Year the cottage was great to be in. Parking was easy but expensive as we were low season. We have no idea how we could visit in high season. We would like to but couldn’t work out how that’s possible! Would recommend the cottage to anyone but obviously getting there might be difficulty parking at other times in the year. It would be good to have some instructions on the page on where to park. Providing only 1 toilet roll for a 6 night stay was the only issue (not sure it was even a whole one!)

About the location

SALCOMBE

Kingsbridge 7 miles; Dartmouth 21 miles; Plymouth 24 miles; Paignton 26 miles.

Salcombe is a popular destination for walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea and was once a major port. There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.
