The property
Rock Point is a tastefully presented and well-equipped detached holiday home with a fully secure large garden and ample parking for two cars within easy reach of Salcombe town centre and the ferries, just a 5-7 minute walk away. The property and its location are ideal for families or one or two couples looking for high-quality holiday accommodation with quick and easy access to Salcombe and the surrounding coast and countryside. Access to the property is via six stone steps leading up to the main entrance and into a hallway with parquet flooring.
Alternatively, there is a rear entrance with just one step. Most of the accommodation is on the main level, with a short set of stairs leading down to the utility room and third bedroom. The attractively decorated and comfortably furnished sitting room features two large leather sofas, an armchair with a footstool, a coffee table, a feature wood-burning stove with a slate hearth, a TV with Freeview, a DVD player, and a soundbar with Bluetooth. Double doors open into a light, sunny, and particularly spacious conservatory with tiled flooring.
This space includes a large dining table that seats up to eight guests, along with a high chair. The well-presented and well-equipped kitchen features a range of cream wall and floor units, wooden worktops, a Neff electric oven with a four-ring gas hob, a Bosch dishwasher, a microwave, a fridge, a wine cooler, and a wooden-topped breakfast bar with five stools.
The floor is finished with stone tiles. There are three bedrooms in total. The master bedroom has a comfortable super king-size bed, bedside drawers, a mirrored wardrobe, a wall-mounted TV, and a small en suite with a shower, WC, wash-hand basin, and heated towel rail. The second bedroom, adjacent to the master, also has a super king-size bed, which can be split into two singles on request, bedside tables, a mirrored wardrobe, and a wall-mounted TV. On the lower floor, accessed via the utility room, is a third bedroom with wooden-framed bunk beds, a three-foot single over a four-foot-six double, a mirrored wardrobe, and a TV. In addition to the en suite shower room, there is a family bathroom with a bath, an overhead shower, a wash-hand basin, a WC, and two heated towel rails. The utility room, located on the lower level, is fitted with storage units, a wooden worktop, a Belfast sink, a washing machine, a tumble dryer, and a freezer.
A door leads from here to the front terrace and garden. To the front of the property, there is a lawned area and a stone terrace with a table, chairs, and a BBQ.
The enclosed garden provides a wonderful space for relaxing, with ample seating for alfresco dining, soaking up the sun, or simply enjoying a good book. Rock Point is situated in a relatively quiet area of Salcombe, Knowle Road, yet it is only a 5-7 minute walk into the town.
The famous harbour and estuary, popular with sailors and watersports enthusiasts, are very close by.
The beautiful beaches of East Portlemouth and Millbay can be easily accessed via a small passenger ferry that runs from the town year-round.
Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £200.
About the location
SALCOMBE
Kingsbridge 7 miles; Dartmouth 21 miles; Plymouth 24 miles; Paignton 26 miles.
Salcombe is a popular destination for walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea and was once a major port. There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.
Second bedroom has a super-king bed that can be split to create two singles. This must be requested at the time of booking.
