Louise “Lovely cottage, very conveniently situated.”
Clean & well equipped. Slightly tired in certain areas. Garden not a pleasant space to sit out in which is a shame. Needs a lot of TLC. Metal table & chairs covered in bird poo. Wouid have been nice to have had the option to sit out for morning coffee. Great other than that

Joycelyn “We had a wonderful time at St Leonards it was our second time visiting this cottage.”
If I had any criticism it would say your details on line need updating, you say there is a tv in bedroom and there has not been for 2 years. And the front and back garden are a mess.
- Joycelyn, January 2025We are so pleased to read you had a wonderful stay. The owners are looking into replacing the TV in the bedroom as it is currently not working, as you have mentioned, we hope this did not effect your stay too much. Thank you for the feedback on the front and rear gardens we will pass this on to be looked at. We hope to welcome you back to Salcombe soon. The owner success team on behalf of, Property Owner

Victoria “Really great property in an ideal location for the town!”
This property suited us perfectly, but perhaps tricky for those with young children or elderly relatives due to the steep hill into town (nothing to do with the property though!)

Christopher “St Leonards is a gorgeous, cosy cottage, we had it as our base for a week over Christmas and made some really happy memories here.”
We wouldn't hesitate to go back again for either a winter or summer break at St Leonards - it's exactly the homely vibe we were after. The massive bed was incredibly comfy, the couch was perfect for us to relax after a long day and the cottage had everything in it that we could have wanted - including an unexpected estuary view (well, just!) That being said, we do have to recognise that it is a little bit tired in places, especially externally - the gardens front and back are small but could benefit from a tidy up, and the hanging baskets at the front would really look better if they were taken down for the winter. The TV in the bedroom didn't work for us so we reported that to Sykes, but that's a small thing anyway - we don't need a bedroom TV. The kitchen is really well equipped and has all the plates, cutlery and utensils you'll need but some items had been put away by previous guests without being washed properly - especially baking trays, wine glasses and chopping boards. We've pulled out some really niggling points but overall we loved St Leonards and the addition of a parking space in the middle of Salcombe was a huge bonus, plus it's so well located - 2 minutes downhill and you're in the heart of the town.

Andrea “Great location and a fabulous parking space.”
A little cottage which needs a lot of love, care and maintenance though. The bathroom seriously needs updating: inadequate power in the over head shower, warped and inadequate laminate flooring, a fabric shower curtain reclaimed from the 1980s. The kitchen storage is fine and well equipped however, the work surface is black, mouldy around the sink area and is off putting to prepare food in. The skirting board below the oven is stuck on with cello tape. The front and back garden need maintenance, it’s unwelcoming and uncared for with a very dangerous, broken, wrought iron gate which could seriously injure someone’s hand. A little time and maintenance would transform this property nonetheless, it transpires that the owners are only interested in the revenue the property makes, there is no investment into the property or the holiday makers who spend their well earned money to be there.

Helen “Loved the property, booked for next year too.”
- Helen, August 2024 -
Helene “St Leonards is our preferred holiday accommodation.”
we know it very well and feel very much at home. it is kids-friendly and comfortable for adults.
- Helene, July 2024 -
Dennis “Generally very good.”
A few areas were showing cobwebs, but this did not detract from a pleasant stay. All amenities close to hand along with some nice coastal path walks and a handy bus service less than 2 minutes walk.
- Dennis, May 2024 -
Sarah “Lovely cottage.”
Kitchen was well stocked. Beds extremely comfortable. Location excellent and great to have a parking space. House was clean and tidy. Really great stay. Thank you

Ann “Fabulous stay at St Leonards.”
Home from home Cosy and very comfortable. Just a couple of little things to point out - only 2 small wine glasses and no scissors. Although we loved the ambience of St Leonards we feel the garden could definitely do with a little attention and the front garden could be so pretty with a little tlc. Last tiny grumble, the gate could do with some attention. These are only small things but we feel important. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area. Thank you.
- Ann, April 2024 -
Joycelyn “We had a wonderful time, loved the house, a couple of things , only 1 roll of toilet paper for four people over 3 days.”
TV in the bedroom not there and in August 23 had been reported. Would be best to tell customers beforehand. No bags for bin in kitchen. But we would come again as we all had a great stay.
- Joycelyn, February 2024 -
Daniel “A very nice cottage,.”
Excellent location, parking was good. It was clean, tidy. Maybe some information on local places eat and drink, would be nice. We.did go in winter and was aware that places would be closed; however we were pleasantly surprised to find pubs were open.
- Daniel, January 2024 -
Lucy “We had a lovely weekend break.”
Beautifully appointed home.
- Lucy, November 2023 -
Hywel “Great location”
- Hywel, September 2023 -
Deborah “LOVED ST LEONARDS.”
..VERY COMFORTABLE AND CONVENIENT...OH AND WE HAD GREAT WEATHER!
- Deborah, September 2023 -
Helene “We love st Leonard’s!”
It is the fifth time we rent it out for summer holidays in Salcombe, and it is very well kept . The garden is much better tended than before and it is a lovely quiet spot. Right in the centre of Salcombe means we get anywhere by walking. Excellent address, just difficult to book for summer if not anticipated a year before, which is a challenge not knowing when we can take holidays.
- Helene, July 2023 -
Diane “Good location, could do with some TLC, Dinner plates and tea plates need replacing badly.”
Downstairs smells musty and damp, with a fair amount of cobwebs, could do with a good spring clean. Upstairs bathroom clean & bed comfortable but front bedroom curtains difficult to close, pole not suitable for curtain rings. Hot water temperature set too high, could scald someone vulnerable. Some of these comments were written ion the comments book by previous occupants some time back.
- Diane, June 2023 -
Denise “Lovely stay, good to have parking.”
Utensils/pans/crockery need replacing and property needs updating/decorating. Ornaments dusty. Beds comfortable. Not too far to walk to pubs etc.
- Denise, September 2022 -
Sue “Good comfortable cottage with sun trap outdoor space.”
and front as well as the small park opposite with beautiful panoramic views. Ideal access to Salcombe town. Tastefully decorated with most of what we needed. We could have done with a few more wine glasses and small tumblers in order to use the dishwsher efficiently. T.V. not working in the bedroom, but was reported to agent in Salcombe. (Not fixed whilst we were there) Stairs quite steep with short tread so would benefit from both hand rails starting at the top. Would book again/recommend
- Sue, June 2022 -
Kathleen “St Leonard's is a lovely place to have a really relaxing holiday.”
Every thing that you need has been thought about and provided. Bed really comfortable and the whole accommodation is spotless. Parking a stone's throw away is a massive bonus. A short walk from the harbour, shops and pubs. We really had a lovely week.
- Kathleen, June 2022 -
Mary “A fabulous cottage and we will definitely rebook.”
The bed was SO comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. We really couldn’t fault it. Thank you.
- Mary, May 2022 -
Robert “The only thing that lets the property down is the bathroom.”
Narrow bath, taps in the middle stick out to much very difficult to climb in ( No grab rail) And with a small curtain rail its difficult even to shower. However the positives far outweigh this negative which makes us return year after year
- Robert, March 2022 -
Paul “The only negative comments are.”
We were concerned by the amount of commercial vehicles having to make numerous shunts to negotiate to turn to access the coop and construction vehicles serving work in the boat park. The only other issue is the front door is extremely difficult to open and close.
- Paul, January 2022 -
Torquill “Loved the property but was unhappy with the administration from Sykes”
- Torquill, October 2021 -
Paul “Location to town and facilities.”
- Paul, September 2021 -
Maria “There is a leak in the kitchen ceiling when someone has a bath/ shower.”
The steepness of the stairs to the playroom should also be noted as it is dangerous
- Maria, August 2021Thank you for your review and highlighting the maintenance issue, which we have attended to and rectified. We have also updated the property description to advise that the steps to the playroom are steep. We hope that you enjoyed your time in Salcombe and at St Leonards, and look forward to welcoming you back soon. Property Owner
-
Monica “The cottage was lovely and comfortable.”
The only problem was it was situated on a very noisy road due to lots of traffic especially early mornings.
- Monica, July 2021 -
Jessica “Really lovely little cottage!”
The ideal location for getting into the centre of Salcombe easily (less than 5min walk down hill into town). The kitchen was really well equipped! Garden was lovely and private. Only slight niggle would be there is only 1 loo (4 of us stayed there for the week) and the front bedroom is quite noisy in the mornings with lots of cars travelling past.
- Jessica, May 2021 -
David “Excellent cottage, very accessible to town and parking a bonus.”
Excellent facilities. Everything fine apart from cooker which had no manual, the control marks had worn away and the burners needed to be lit by a match. Also shower curtain could be replaced But all in all, an excellent place to stay.
- David, September 2020Many thanks for your lovely feedback. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at the cottage. Thank you for highlighting the issue with the cooker. We have passed this onto the owner, who has now order a new one and that has already been delivered to the property. We do hope we can welcome you back to the area soon. Property Owner
-
Sarah “Yes lovely cottage really cosy and comfortable and central so we could pop into town easily each morning first thing for supplies before it got busy.”
Very clean we brought our own bedding and plates etc but probably didn’t need to.
- Sarah, July 2020Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback regarding your stay at St Leonards. We are very happy to hear that you found the apartment exceeded your expectations and that you found it to suit your requirements. We do hope you choose to book with us again. Property Owner

Sarah “Comfortable, well equipped cottage in a great location .”
.. parking is invaluable in Salcombe! A little dusty ... suspect no-one has stayed for a while (it is out of season) and I'd have hoped the cleaners would have given it a quick dust/wipe down. But all in all, would highly recommend.
- Sarah, March 2020Thank you for taking the time to let us know how much you enjoyed your stay at St Leonards. We apologise that the property was a little dusty; this has been raised with our housekeepers to ensure the property continues to meet the high standards we expect from all of our properties. A thorough clean will be carried out prior to the next guests' stay. We hope to welcome you back to the area soon. Property Owner

James “We’ve been to Salcombe many times, but this was the first time for the Christmas week and we had a fantastic time.”
Our cottage, St Leonard’s was very comfortable and very welcoming after long beach walks. We’re already trying to plan the next trip to Salcombe.....
- James, December 2019 -
Lynette “We spent a very comfortable and lazy week at St Leonard’s Cottage which was lovely and it felt like home.”
It’s close enough to the town without being in the centre and we really appreciated that there was a car space close to the cottage, although we didn’t use the car during the week but hopped onto a bus instead for excursions.
- Lynette, September 2019 -
Catherine “We love this cottage it is perfect for our family.”
We have been back a number of times and as our children really enjoy the familiarity of it. As well as being close to the town and good facilities.
- Catherine, August 2019 -
Laura “Lovely cottage with a seaside theme - bigger than we expected from the photos.”
Short walk into town. The outside area was a sun trap. Everything we needed and more. Convenient parking area.
- Laura, July 2019 -
Jennifer “St Leonards cottage is tastefully decorated and furnished - roomy on the ground floor.”
However a steep staircase and "tricky" landing access the two very small bedrooms, bathroom and beyond via more steep stairs. The shower arrangement is frankly laughable. Vacating the property by 10 a.m. is nowadays archaic and to be asked politely by the owner via a note to strip the beds to assist the cleaner is a bit much! We loved Salcombe but because of the shower and staircase would not want to stay in this property again. We feel the staircase issue should be noted on the property description.
- Jennifer, June 2019 -
Malcolm “TV reception very disappointing, apart from that we were pleased”
- Malcolm, June 2019 -
Vicki “Lovely company to deal with from the word go.”
A warm welcome. Cottage was lovely and beautifully clean. We do staycations a lot and both had a really lovely time. your company was recommended to us so happy to pass that on x
- Vicki, March 2019 -
Rebecca “Cottage in great location.”
Had everything we needed for a family of 4. Beds extremely comfortable! Upstairs playroom a real bonus.
- Rebecca, February 2019 -
Rebecca “Another lovely property enjoyed our winter stay as usually at the seagulls every Summer.”
St Leonard’s may need the outside patio tidying up but we didn’t use it so was fine for us. St Leonard’s was cosy and the bedroom furnishings beautiful.
- Rebecca, December 2018 -
