“A welcome pack, perhaps some milk and biscuits for a cup of tea, would be welcome.”

A few more pint glasses would be useful. Not vital but the grass needs cutting. Otherwise excellent, ground source heating very effective, plenty of hot water.

“Sea Peep is the most fabulous property and is in the most glorious setting.”

It was immaculately clean, wonderfully equipped and extremely comfortable. We were so happy that we really didn't want to leave. The only thing that we struggled with was that the children were upstairs on their own. It would have been easier if the single beds were in the back, downstairs room near their parents. However, everything else was wonderful and it is a holiday that we will always remember. Thankyou for everything.

So much so that we have booked for next year. thank you! Really well equipped including kitchen utensils. Good situation within walking distance of beaches, The weather was rather hot during our stay and so upstairs was very warm indeed at night. Provision of a fan there is our only thought in terms of a very small improvement..

The house was lovely, very comfortable with nice views inside and out. I think new guests should be warned about the difficulty of driving on the very narrow roads. The trip to Hope Cove was particularly challenging.

“What an amazing property!”

There is so much space and it is beautifully kept. The layout is perfect allowing for guests to mingle in the kitchen and the living room due to the open plan set up. The views are lovely and it is just a short walk to the many beaches in Thurlestone. The sofas are lovely and comfy and the open fire is perfect. Bedrooms all have great space, especially the master bedroom, and it is very handy that they all have en-suites. The utility room extra entrance is also very handy so that there is somewhere to take off any muddy boots rather than traipsing through the house. Only thing we would have liked would have been a tumble dryer to dry any swimwear, but this did not detract from the stay. We loved it!

Improvements? perhaps some coat hooks inside the front door and a boot tray there too to make it unnecessary to take coats through the sitting room. Pillows in main bedroom very worn out and would like to have found a carving knife !

It’s location in Thurlestone is ideal for a family with young children who enjoy a beach holiday, as you can walk to four beaches easily, all with soft golden sands. The local pub is very welcoming and serves good food and the village shop is well stocked. Which all adds up to very special holiday.

It has everything you need for a fantastic holiday. The house itself is beautiful with a fantastic open plan kitchen, diner, Living room. The bedrooms are all spacious, all with their own en-suite which is great for couples or like us, lots of teenagers!The view across to Thurlestone is beautiful. If, like us, you like to walk, then this house is spot on. Our car never moved all week. Thurlestone beach is only 10 minutes away, Bantham, 35 mins and South Milton which is a stunning beach is only 20 mins. The coastal walks are also very impressive. A perfect place to holiday. We will certainly be returning.

“Stunning well equipped holiday home in a perfect peaceful village location.”

Sea Peep was perfect for me & my husband, 2 children and 80 year old Father in law to all have a lovely holiday. We loved the fact you could walk to the beach and village pub in just over 10 minutes. The children loved the rabbit that visited the garden each day and the bulls in the field opposite! It was lovely to relax on the sun loungers with a glass of wine whilst watching the farmer work the fields. I think Thurlestone is a great base to visit Devon as it is peaceful but near enough to drive to Salcombe and all the surrounding places. We drove to The Model railway in Babbacombe near Torquay and took a steam train from Dartmouth to Paignton. It was only around an hour away. I would love this house to be our permanent home! We look forward to visiting again sometime.

“Excellent design and decoration.”

Plenty of space for families. Issues concerning lack of clarity re refuse bin usage (1 green and 1 grey/black ) both apparently for rubbish and different collection days, no details in house infomation file. Disappointing not to have recycling bin but appreciate South Hams maybe to blame ? Also a tumble dryer would be helpful.

Under their current policy, South Hams District Council do not offer recycling facilities for holiday homes; however, should you wish to recycle, the closest bottle/paper/plastic recycling banks are in Malborough Village Hall Car Park or alternatively, there are additional bottle banks at the Cattle Market car park in Kingsbridge. As far as the provision of a tumble drier is concerned, the property is not advertised as having one, however, there are airers in the utility room for the convenience of guests. For your information, there are also 4 very good chairs up on the balcony that can be brought down to the terrace. They are great as they recline well and support one's neck but you cannot have your feet up in them. On a positive note, we do hope you enjoyed your stay at this lovely property and would choose to return again.

“Sea Peep Is a high quality and very desirable property and is designed to take full advantage of drawing light inside.”

A nice dilemma to have was where shall we chill out? Upstairs on the L shaped large sofa on the mezzanine, or out on the balcony to take advantage of enjoying the "Peep" to the sea. Downstairs is equally as comfortable and having a large private patio and garden overlooking the gently rising and green landscape is also rather nice. If you want to cook you have everything you could possible need or want from a kitchen. Getting about is easy and a short walk takes you to The Village Inn and this saves having to use the car or call a cab. If you have small children or aged parents as we have, the short drive around to the Village isn't a problem or the journey into the coffee bars and restaurants of Salcombe and further afield to Dartmouth is worthwhile. Sea Peeps close proximity to the coast path, golf and tennis club if that's your desire, and miles of fantastic walks on your doorstep ticks my box. If you run as we do, a vista of magnificent and stunning scenery adds to the ups and downs all the way to Hope Cove and beyond. On this occasion and our first visit to this property, it was just my wife and I and we enjoyed what Sea Peep had to offer. Even with a full house you wouldn't feel crowded, or overcrowded. I wouldn't hesitate to take a winter holiday here and can imagine enjoying the warm glow from a roaring log fire in the enormous fireplace to greet you after a good run, or a bracing walk. What more do you want? A full cooked breakfast of course!

“Fantastic house and exactly what we were expecting in terms of comfort, roominess and location.”

Only one negative and it almost seems churlish to mention it but there were no logs for the open fire (the property spec says that logs are included). It wouldn't put us off booking this house again though. We had a lovely family time. Top marks to Coast & Country and Sea Peep.

“Beautiful house a real home from home.”

Plenty of space and really good quality beds and linen. Lovely location and walking distance to the beach and village. Would be nice to have a 6' bed in the master bed as there's more than enough room also better for the taller person! A TV in the bedroom would also be a bonus. We couldn't get the channels on the 2 TVs so show different programmes so could only watch the same programme on both which was a pain when you had an age range of 9-90! The kitchen is very well equipped, all that's missing are some dessert bowls. The house was very cosy and warm at Christmas and a great place for entertaining with the large table and upstairs lounge area. Would recommend this house to anyone and have done already. Would love to return in the warmer months to take advantage of the outdoor space and views.

The property

Sea Peep is a very attractive detached house, within just a few minutes walk of Thurlestone village and the stunning South Devon coastline.

The house has been furnished and presented to a high standard throughout and is ideally suited to family groups or perhaps couples looking for a very spacious holiday property within easy reach of this picturesque Devon village.

Please note pets are strictly not permitted at this property.

The house sits within a small development of new houses on the edge of the village.

Thurlestone's famous 4-Star hotel - with its Par 3 golf course, popular restaurant and pub - the village stores/post office and the challenging 18-hole links golf course are around 1/2 mile away.

There are a number of popular beaches nearby whilst the famous sailing waters of Salcombe are within a pleasant 10-15 minute drive. Lovely views across country fields and marshland (perfect spot for bird watching) towards the golf course and a 'peep' of the sea beyond!

From the driveway there is direct access to the entrance door and in at the half-landing level - a short flight of stairs lead down into a tiled hallway off which is a cloakroom with w.c and basin.

A very spacious and well presented room that extends through into the kitchen.

The sitting room is dominated by the large feature open-fireplace (logs supplied) and furnished with a large L-shaped sofa, further double sofa and armchair, coffee table, sideboard, flat-screen TV with Sky, DVD player and CD/MP3 unit.

Double French doors lead out to the terrace and garden beyond.

The adjacent dining area has a large table seating eight comfortably.

Two steps lead up to the kitchen. Also on the ground floor is a stunning and very well equipped kitchen with tiled flooring, stylish, contemporary units, marble worktops, four-ring induction hob, electric double oven and grill, microwave, integrated larder fridge and dishwasher.

There is also a large central island/breakfast bar with beech worktop and stools. Four bedrooms in total, including three doubles on the ground floor.

The master bedroom has a wooden-framed King-size bed, bedside units, dressing table and chair, fitted wardrobes and doors out to the terrace and garden.

Large en suite bathroom with under-floor heating, bath, separate shower cubicle, wash-hand basin, w.c and heated towel rail.

Two further double bedrooms each have a wooden-framed King-size bed, bedside units, fitted wardrobe, dressing table and chair plus en suite shower room with shower, wash-hand basin, w.c and heated towel rail.

One double room also has a door out to the terrace and garden.

On the first floor is a twin room with two metal-framed single beds, wardrobe and bedside unit.

N.B All duvets, pillows, bed linen and towels (excluding beach towels) are supplied. A delightful gallery room on the upper level is partially open to the floor below and overlooks the dining area and kitchen.

This light and sunny Southwest-facing room has a high vaulted ceiling with exposed timber beams and door out to glazed balcony.

At the top of the stairs is a study area with desk and chair. To the rear of the house is a good-sized terrace with wooden table, chairs and sun loungers, as well as a pleasant garden laid mainly to lawn.

There is also a raised area of lawn at the front of the property, adjacent to the driveway (for reasons of safety young children must be supervised at all times).

At first floor level is a glazed balcony with chairs and lovely views across towards the golf course and coastline.

The picturesque village of Thurlestone is popular with both beach-goers and watersports enthusiasts, with the beautiful sandy beaches of Thurlestone and South Milton Sands within walking distance. Thurlestone boasts an 18-hole links golf course, a 13th century church, a traditional pub, a post office and the ‘Voyage Spa’, where visitors can enjoy spa treatments or afternoon tea. The sailing town of Salcombe is just a 10-15 minute drive away, and the fishing village of Hope Cove is a short drive away, or can be reached on foot via the South West Coast Path.
